Offset tall boy

This piece was designed with the nothing hidden approach, when you open the drawers you can see through the piece to the back. The drawer sides become part of the design adding to its simplicity.

The drawer fronts themselves are extended on one side slightly to create a handle making the drawers easy to open with a flat open hand instead of scrunching your hand up to use an awkward handle.

The piece shown is made from solid black walnut, contrasted with ash to enable drawer joints to create a pattern and add to the semantics of the piece. The piece is sealed with a silex paste and given some coats of a two pack finish making it both heat proof and spill proof, it is then cut down to leave a satin finish.
